BDI Academy 2026
In 2026, we will once again be offering free training courses focused on the Basic Data Infrastructure (BDI). This year’s training programme consists of three separate courses, each aimed at a specific target audience and level of expertise:
Training courses

BDI Fundamentals
The BDI Fundamentals training is aimed at managers and non-developers, but it is also suitable for other interested participants. The goal of this training is to understand the core components and principles of the BDI, so that you know what is required to start working with it. Enroll for the various trainingsessions below.
BDI Technical Fundamentals
The BDI Technical Fundamentals training is primarily aimed at developers, but managers and non-developers with a technical background are also welcome to participate. The structure of this training is the same as that of the BDI Fundamentals training. However, the technical variant goes into greater depth on the technical components of the BDI, ensuring that participants are better prepared for the BDI Professional training. Enroll for the various trainingsessions below.
BDI Professional
The BDI Professional training is exclusively aimed at developers. The objective of this training is for participants to be able to independently develop a BDI application based on a fictional or real-life case. It is a course of three days and the dates will be announced based on the availability and interest of participants who have completed the Technical Fundamentals training. In this way, we ensure that every participant, from strategic decision-makers to technical specialists, can acquire and deepen knowledge at the appropriate level.
E-learning as a foundation
For all training courses, participants are required to complete the BDI Introduction e-learning in advance. The BDI Introduction is intended for anyone who wants to learn more about the basic principles of the BDI, including policymakers, interest group representatives, researchers, managers, and developers.
The objective of this training is to understand what the BDI is and what problems it can address, enabling participants to explain it to colleagues and to recognize situations in which the BDI can add value. Key questions addressed during this training include:
-
- What is BDI?
-
- Which problems does it solve?
-
- What are the advantages and disadvantages?
The e-learning is available online, can be completed independently, and is a mandatory prerequisite for participation in the training courses.
