1. BDI: the right data at the right time

A key focus within DIL is the development and implementation of the Basic Data Infrastructure (BDI). This is a framework of agreements that enables multiple parties in the logistics chain - both companies and public authorities - to share data in a digital environment that  is flexible, secure and automated. The principle is simple: businesses and governments make their data digitally available so that, under certain conditions, others can make use of it. This ensures that the right data is available at the right time. "Ahead of the cargo, instead of chasing it."

2. Living Labs: BDI in practice

In Living Labs, companies and public authorities apply the BDI in practice to address various logistical challenges. Examples include CO2 reporting, goods traceability, cargo theft and criminal infiltration. Currently, more than ten Living Labs are active accross maritime shipping, air freight and road transport. Through DIL, we provide a platform where numerous companies collaborate, innovate and achieve concrete results to improve digital data exchange. We offer co-financing, coordination and BDI expertise. Do you have a logistics challenge where data sharing using the BDI might offer a solution? Get in touch - we'd be happy to discuss it with you.
