Schiphol is progressing steadily with the Smart Cargo Mainport Program

Published on January 28, 2025

The Smart Cargo Mainport Program (SCMP) was established in 2015 to help Schiphol maintain its leading position in air cargo. It is an innovation program in which active representatives from the logistics chain collaborate on solutions for the cargo community, supported by Royal Schiphol Group, Cargonaut, and the industry association Air Cargo Netherlands (ACN). The project organization is managed by Royal Schiphol Group.

Digitalization is a key pillar of the SCMP. It plays a vital role in making logistics processes more predictable and easier to plan. The program also incorporates Blockchain Data Infrastructure (BDI); a pilot setup has been launched to explore how data can be securely shared with non-community parties, while ensuring that data owners retain full control.

These and other developments are highlighted in the article 'De mijlpalen van SCMP in 2024, van Speedgate tot Secure Key'.
